HVAC Engineer

Job Description:
Southern Air, Inc. is a statewide/Regional Mechanical, Electrical Design Build Contractor based in Lynchburg, VA. Our projects range in size from single unitary systems on small commercial buildings to large commercial, educational and industrial complexes.
The successful candidate will do design, pricing, and sales presentations for the full range of mechanical systems for commercial and industrial projects including unitary and applied air conditioning systems, heating and ventilation systems and equipment, piped utilities for hot and chilled water, steam and process piping. We do field investigation for many of our retrofit projects. We are heavily involved in supporting the construction personnel on our projects (yes, you get to go out of the office and actually see the things you design).
You can expect to be involved in developing and maintaining relations with a group of our customers.
Good written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of computer aided drafting, and good general computer skills are required.

Qualifications:
We are looking for a person with a B. S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, 5+ years of experience in the design of HVAC, plumbing and piping systems. We expect this engineer to be one of our future leaders, so an EIT is mandatory. We prefer candidates with their PE license.
